Hi!
Hi! My name is May Tan and I'm 22 years old. I came across this site because I was looking for a part time job as an ESl teacher. Sad to say, I feel so outcast here because by profession ,I'm not a teacher. And as most of you can guess, I'm a nurse. Right after the board exams I immediately got into an ESL job and I loved it. I've taught in a lot of summer camps for Korean students and I had a great time. I just love teaching! hehe..Have a great day everyone!

RE: Hi!
Hi May and welcome to EduPhil.org!

Why don't you get a CPE and take up the LET? Or get some masteral units in nursing and teach in college?

RE: Hi!
Oh, what's a CPE? I can actually teach nursing but I choose not to because I'm currently working as a nurse and I use my ESl job as a way to de-stress from my hustle bustle work..hehe..But I'm particularly interested with SPED though.Smile

RE: Hi!
Certificate Program in Education. Once you take 18 education units via CPE, you can then take the Licensure Examination for Teachers and be a professional teacher of basic education.

Wow, what a good way to de-stress! (I de-stress from teaching by managing this forum Smile.) So you are currently working as an ESL teacher also?

BTW, SPED is in much demand in the U.S., if you have any plan for that.

RE: Hi!
I stopped working as an ESL teacher last December because the owner asked me to work on Christmas and New Year so I have to let it go. Now, I really missed it and again it's healthy for me..hehe. And yah, people say that doing something totally different from your line of work is really refreshing and de-stressing...hehe.

RE: Hi!
How about SpEd teaching? Maybe you can get some units in SpEd teaching.

Do you have any plans to go to the U.S.?
