RE: guidelines (promotion of teachers)
sir /madam:
I have a query ,this is in relation for the ranking for Master Teacher position in our school. Would it be possible to include or qualify in the ranking those teachers who are promoted last March 2008? I'm akward to ask our school head, though I knew that there is a ruling in the Civil Service that promotion of an employee will commence after 1 year .I can't find any files of said guidelines so that I could present it to our school head in due time.If you have said guidelines or knew some of it would it be possible to provide me.Thanx

It is possible...the only problem is that the papers that you have used in your previous ranking will not be credited anymore for the ranking of the next position. With the span of 1 year it is hard for us to meet the point requirements for Master Teachers..

Are you using now the new guidelines? DepEd Order No. 66 s. 2007?

I thought it is not possible coz after the ranking the newly ranked teachers in our school will be appointed of being MT within this year because we have vacant items.

RE: guidelines (promotion of teachers)
Good day...i am from Davao City. I just want to ask what are the process of teachers promotion in your District or Division. I am a teacher 2 and applying for a higher position of teacher 3. What is the process of your ranking? School based of District based? In our district they said that ranking for teacher 3 positions are school based and you can be promoted only if one of your co-teachers will be promoted for higher position. My problem is i belong to small school with few teachers. No teacher 3 positions that can be filled up for promotions. Whereas, if the ranking of teachers would be a district based i guess i could have great chance for promotion. Many younger teachers hired on bigger schools are now promoted because their school has many teachers being promoted to higher positions. Whereas,,,I and my other co-teachers aiming for promotion remain stagnant with our positions. I just hope anyone from this blog could explain the process of promotion and i hope the Department of Education will make this process clear in the field so that teachers will also have chance to excel in terms of professional level/growth. Please give chance for fair ranking for the whole district so that teachers who belong to small school can apply and have chance to excel.. This may hinder teachers to transfer bigger school just to aim promotions.Well......i am just trying to ask some clarification. Thanks and hope to hear some ranking process in your district or division.God bless....Angel

AFAIK, the ranking is supposed to be division-based. Unfortunately I could not cite for you relevant authoritative documents for this, since it is based on first-hand knowledge.

I was told recently by a teacher-friend from another division that once a teacher has earned 42 M.A. units, he/she is already promotable to TEACHER III. Is this true? Please enlighten... Thanks!:)
