guidelines (promotion of teachers)
Dep Ed Order No. 66 series of 2007.... states that " these guidelines shall apply to the appointment and promotion of teaching and related teaching group such as Teacher II and III etc..........and other teaching and related teaching positions indicated in the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers..

the problem is... our school uses these guidelines for Teacher II and III positions only.. they have used other guidelines for Master Teacher I and II.. our AO said that the Guidelines was only for teachers II and III etc. but not for MAster Teachers... is he right? please give comment to these tySad

Are you sure there is no later instruction overruling this 2007 order?

RE: guidelines (promotion of teachers)
Well, this is my opinion...if Master Techer is within the category of School Heads, Head Teachers then, DO #26, s. 2007 cannot be applied including all Non-Teaching Group. However, if Master Teacher is not within...or in that category, then you are bounded with DO #26 by the phrase "these guidelines shall apply to the........and other teaching and related teaching positions.

Also, you may brought this issue as stated by admin to your own PSB (Personnel Selection Board) for clarification.

There is no harm in asking like this matter. Brought this issue not only for your sake but for the entire flock of Master teachers.

There is a DepED Memorandum 351 s. 2004 which designates people to create criteria for Master Teachers. I don't know if they have come up with the new criteria.

RE: guidelines (promotion of teachers)
thnx alhob.
MAster Teachers were not included in the Guidelines for head teachers and principals..

I have already ask them about this matter but they are insisting that the new Guidelines were only intended for teachers II and III and not for master teachers.... I have asked them the meaning of and other teaching and related teaching position ]but until now they have not yet given any answer.. I am planning to put into writing my queries regarding this but then i am also afraid to be "blacklisted"...

I Just want to seek for the opinion of our fellow teachers regarding their interpretation on this DepEd Order.

RE: guidelines (promotion of teachers)
and even they have come out with the guidelines for master teachers in 2004.. DO 66 s 2007 still be the guidelines used for Master Teachers as stated in its repealing clause" all rules, regulations and issuances, which are inconsistent with these guidelines are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.....

What is the proper procedure then in filing my complaint?
