Studying in NZ – How to get started
So you’ve made the decision to study and work in New Zealand. Here are some tips on how to get you to the Land of the Kiwi and the Long White Cloud, provided by Immigration Placement Services (IPS) (http://www.immigratenz.co.nz): First to obtain admission from your chosen school use the services of an agency that is accredited with many established NZ educational institutions, and who can help you select the school that can offer you the best price and education to meet your needs. They would also be able to give you sound advice on what course to take, and give you pros and cons if you choose the trades, business management, health, English, engineering, electrical, or whatever. There is no additional cost to students using this service.

Second, organize your qualifications and credentials. Immigration Placement Services assists students who wish to study in New Zealand by reviewing their qualifications and recommending a selection of suitable accredited educational institution to complete their studies and achieve their dreams.

Third, prepare a resume and your transcripts. IPS will then arrange for you a student visa to both study and work in New Zealand. You can earn while studying as it’s legal for students to work up to 20 hours a week while studying.

Fourth, if you wish to practice healthcare and the medical fields in New Zealand, it may be required to undertake further study or to undertake a Competency Course that can lead you to get an NZ medical registration in nursing or other health disciplines. Your agency can also assist you in this matter.

For instance, Immigration Placement Services advises prospective applicants to undertake an 8-week CAPS course. Once you graduated from that course, you can apply for NZ registration. IPS can also assist overseas registered nurses to complete their CAPS and arrange a job offers, as well as find employers to sponsor you while you do the CAPS course.

Once you have an NZ registration and a job offer, you may wish to apply for a permanent residency.

Last, get help from a reputable institution. Immigration Placement Services can help you fulfill your dream to work and study in New Zealand, and at the same time provide you ongoing help while studying in the country.
