Rationale of this subforum
Fellow teachers,
Lets try 2 make a list of inconsiderate and insensitive schools who don't have an eye for teacher's welfare. We also need to include the violations.

RE: Teachers Beware!
As the creator of this forum I whole-heartedly support this idea. However, we need to come up with sane ground rules first, or this system is bound to be abused by some. Foremost would be a chance for the concerned school to reply to the allegations against it.

If there is enough demand, we may even create a new section for those kind of threads.

So what are the grounds?
Are we going to excuse small schools?

Also, do techers know their rights in terms of labor issues?

RE: Teachers Beware!
Of course, no school is excused. However, we need to have data, documents, proofs, evidence. We could not just hurl allegations left and right.

I don't think many teachers know their rights according to applicable labor laws (not just the Labor Code).

RE: Teachers Beware!
there are only two things we need, the labor code and the office document. When i say office document, it could be from the school itself or from the responsible office. Both are easy to obtain but the earlier would be hard if it is hiding something.

RE: Teachers Beware!
Can we not just exchange ideas and perceptions and leave it for others to judge the rightness and soundness of arguments? I believe for a forum to flourish, it needs the least restriction. The only rule is to remain civil!

RE: Teachers Beware!
Well, I've checked with my lawyer-friend, and he told me that standard libel rules may apply. Smile Of course, I sincerely doubt his pronouncement, since I have always known lawyers to be more cautious than what is necessary.

So at least we are agreed on the need for civility. I am going to create a new section titled, appropriately, "Teachers Beware!" Smile
