Teachers are always in constant stress because of workload, school politics and even personal matters. Sometimes, the length of service rendered teaching just takes it's toll. Reading books on other teachers' experiences and success stories, and also advice from both educators and students, can help rekindle the passion for the profession.

What books would you suggest for personal reading for teachers?

This is my shortlist of 7 Inspiring Books for Teachers I and my boyfriend, also a teacher, have so far read:

• Fires in the Bathroom (Advice for Teachers from High School Students) by Kathleen Cushman
• Letters to a Young Teacher by Jonathan Kozol
• Teach With Your Heart by Erin Gruwell
• The Excellent 11 by Ron Clark
• ABNKKBSKNPL by Bob Ong
  

How would that Bob Ong book be part of this list?

I've recently finished [i]The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time[i] by Mark Haddon. It's a good read to have some emotional connections with autistic kids.

My boyfriend is a fan and he insists it is the book to read for teachers to get inside the brains of Filipino students.
Haddon's book I have yet to read!
