Some school districts offer high teacher salaries and great benefits, while others do not. Before accepting a position, teachers should research the salaries from district to district in their areas.

True, public schools in richer cities/municipalities, and of course, more prominent ones like Science high schools, usually offer better packages for teachers. Sometimes, a newly hired teacher starts out with only Php 3000 a month since the teacher she is supposed to replace is still not retired until after a few months.

There are science high schools which are directly under the Department of Science and Technology, and they have a separate budget. Some science high schools are partly funded by the city or municipality.

i have some teacher friends who are teaching at a private schools and I've learned that they are just receiving 8k. Some of their friends also who are lucky enough to be hired in a public school are just receiving 12k. I'm just curious. Is the minimum salary for public school teachers in the Philippines differ from place to place?

The minimum salary is the same as the minimum salary for other employees. It varies from place to place, based on the computation by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board.

In special cases, such as public schools located in war-stricken areas or far-flung barangays, an additional payment/ allowance can be requested.

This is the so-called hazard pay.

The basic salary of a new teacher is based on the for which standard he/she applied for. IF for a primary school salary should be less compare to the high school teacher and higher secondary school It may be around to 10k-12k.

According to my point of view salary depends on type of school and universities.
If the universities is best the salary will be very high. Its also depends on the experience.
If any teacher have the experience then also they may pay high salary.
