On June 17, 2009, the President signed Congress and Senate Joint Resolution No. 4 which authorized the president to modify the compensation and position classification system of civilian personnel of the government.

The adjustment was supposed to take effect last July 1, 2009.

Teacher I position was increased from Salary Grade 10 to SG 11 (Source: http://www.tucp.org.ph/news/index.php/20...-upgrade/)

"Teachers with specialization in Science and Mathematics shall be given three (3) steps higher of his/her assigned grade."
