EduMarks is EduPhil.org's very own currency.

You can use EduMarks to express your individuality inside the forum. For example, you can now change your user name without admin intervention, for just EM 2,500 (government_sucks is now jose makalolot). You can also change your user title for EM 500. Username and user title colors and fonts, and even default post font and color, can be purchased too: see http://eduphil.org/plaza.php for the prices.

You can also use EduMarks to mark a thread as important, by bumping it (that is, changing its date stamp so it appears at the top of the threads list, for EM 100) or simply sticking it on top of the other threads (for EM 1,000).

You earn EduMarks everytime you post - the more posts, the bigger the earning; the more characters in post, the bigger the amount. Every time your thread is viewed, you also earn. Even creating and answering polls in the forum is credited.

Currently, EduMarks does not have a real-world equivalence, but we may offer that in the future (if advertising pays off, which means that we have lots of users visiting the site - not happening now )
