RE: Code of Ethics for Teachers in the Philippines
hello..

article 1 section 2 provides that the code covers all public and private school teachers in all educational institutions at the preschool, primary, elementary, and secondary levels…

hence my question is this:
does the same act/code also govern college/university instructors and professors?

please enlighten me on this..thanks.. Big Grin

@aileen: It seems to me that that should be the case, since the definition of 'teacher' here is consistent with the definition in the Professionalization Act.

RE: Code of Ethics for Teachers in the Philippines
Teachers must always be imbued with the spirit of professional loyalty, mutual trust and confidence, sacrifice for the common good, and full cooperation with colleagues. When the good students, school or occupation of the controversy is at stake, teachers will support the another.A teacher may ask the competent authorities any legitimate criticism of associate preferably in writing, without prejudice to any rights of the individual teacher has concerned.A place a premium on self-respect and self-discipline as the principle of personal behavior in all relationships with others and in all situations.

RE: Code of Ethics for Teachers in the Philippines
Good Day!

I'm a student studying in a Catholic school, My teacher and I had a dispute. I am at fault also for the dispute but the burden doesn't all fall under my shoulders. And I do admit my fault and I'm coping up with it. Now my problem lies with what my professor did to me. As she had called me names and another things. what disturbs me is what she had said in my face when she confronted me(and I quote) "you're character is very deceiving" and "wag mo kong kalabanin *name*" and "para kang kalawang, ikaw ang sumisira sa organisasyon" other things she did was;raised her tone of voice numerous times with and without other people listening, hung up the phone, etc.
Previously when I had explained my side to her, she would just brush my explanation and will still go with what she think/heard is correct without proper investigation.
I had planned on writing a grievance letter to out school president or the school's student welfare but my professor had known this and confronted me. Right now, I have a subject under her and I honestly don't know what to do. I tried reading the code of ethics for teacher to give me a guide if educators are allowed to demoralize their students... I hope someone can help me, since at this time I desperately need someone to help me. Thank you for reading this long monologue and I hope I didn't posted this at the wrong thread. Thank you again and hope to hear from you as I will be facing my teacher tomorrow with a heavy heart.

What does your school code say? There must be a grievance machinery in your school, if you have a problem with any of the teacher.
