2002 Basic Education Curriculum
The implementation of the 2002 Basic Education Curriculum was announced in Please register to see links., issued on June 17, 2002.

But even before that controversial memorandum* was issued, Please register to see links..

According to then-Sec. of Education Raul Roco (RIP), the 2002 BEC was based on a 16-year study (starting in 1986). Implementation of RBEC was based on Executive Order No. 46, which in turn was based on recommendations of the Philippine Commission on Educational Reforms (PCER), created on Dec. 7, 1998.

The actual implementing guidelines were found in Please register to see links., dated Aug. 29, 2002.

Less than a year later (on June 12, 2003), a new curriculum (the Please register to see links.) was signed into law. Months later, Please register to see links..

(* How controversial was that memorandum? Perhaps out of mistake, but DepEd Order No. 25, s. 2002 is not included in the index of the 2002 orders of DepEd - although it is there, proved by the fact that we can link to it.)

Since we had observed that DepEd keeps changing the URLs to their files (as if their site are search-engine friendly) we attach to this message three files: the announcement for BEC, the implementing rules for BEC, and the implementing rules for RBEC.

Hi Dennis,

Do you mean the Philippine Secondary Schools Learning Competencies? I can locate an offline copy for you if you need it (it is somewhere in my soon-to-be-cleaned-up commode).
